Cell Enumeration

Cell Enumeration

Counting rare cells in blood

Enumeration of rare cells such as Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs), Circulating Endothelial Cells (CECs), and Circulating Multiple Myeloma Cells (CMMCs) can provide important information related to disease status and progression in clinical research studies.

The enumeration of CTCs from blood provides convenient serial monitoring for patients with certain metastatic cancers. The CELLSEARCH® system is currently the only in vitro diagnostic device cleared by the FDA for enumerating CTCs in metastatic breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer. As few as 3 to 5 CTCs present in 7.5 mL of blood can predict a dramatic change in a patient’s prognosis and a numeric change in CTCs may be useful for monitoring patients (for full intended use visit cellsearchctc.com).

THE MOST EXTENSIVELY VALIDATED TECHNOLOGY FOR RARE CELL ENUMERATION

CELLSEARCH technology automates and standardizes enumeration of rare cell types and represents the most validated and established platform to enumerate CTCs, CECs, CMMCs, Circulating Melanoma Cells starting from a simple blood draw for clinical research studies.
